This year Nul-Kryds had the pleasure to host the annual NTHS congress (Nordiske Tekniska Högskolas Skibbsbyggare). 52 maritime enginneer students were invited to discover Denmarks jewel in the maritime industry.
The participants travelled from one end of Denmark to another, starting in Frederikshavn and ending in Copenhagen. Nul-Kryds had prepared a packed program, including shipyards in Jutland and Fyn (Orskov, Karstensen, Fayard), productions (MAN Diesel & Turbo, Alfa Laval) but also companies as the Royal Danish Navy, Swire Blue Ocean, Viking… The companies had made their best to offer interesting visits and presentations and were rewarded by a flood of questions most of the time.
Along with the technical program, the participants could enjoy each other’s company and meet friends from previous years as well as form new relationships with new participants. It was also possible to meet some of the old-timers, both at the companies and at the banquet, with which the congress finished.
The congress was a great opportunity for the Danish delegation to see the maritime industry from many different points of view, which gives a concrete and practical idea of what is possible to do in Denmark.
